Annual Fundraisers:
Quota of Tacoma raises funds to support our community giving. Each fiscal year the fundraising committee works with the community service committee to determine the desired fundraising target. We have established relationships with several local businesses to help us host these events each year and we are grateful for their involvement.
Holiday Poinsettias
Each October we start selling 6” poinsettia plants in 4 color varieties. These lovely plants are provided by local grower DeGoede Brothers. We deliver the first week of December, just in time to bring holiday cheer to the recipients.
Pancake Breakfast with Santa
We have been fortunate to partner with Applebee’s to host a pancake breakfast in early December. Timing this fundraiser around the Christmas holiday, Santa and Mrs. Claus have attended to take photos. We split the cost of the breakfast with Applebee’s and we hold a silent auction to help increase our funds raised.
Spring Tulips
We sell 6” pots with 5 tulip bulbs in each pot and offer them in 4-5 color varieties thanks to DeGoede Brothers and Wild Thyme Nursery. This fundraiser generally takes place at the end of March or early April and the timing often lines up with the Easter holiday.
Garage Sale
It’s been said that one person’s junk is another’s treasure. We firmly believe that’s true! Each June we host a multi-family garage and bake sale to share our cast-off treasures with others. This one-day event enables all of our Quota members to clean out their closets and hang out together while we work the sale. It’s lots of fun and has been quite impactful for our fundraising efforts.
Summer Planter Baskets
Every June, we sell and deliver over 300 hanging baskets - beautiful fuchsias or mixed sun-loving plants. Our suppliers are DeGoede Brothers and Wild Thyme Nursery. The quality of these planters is exceptional.
Golf Tournament
Highland Golf Course is the site of Quota of Tacoma’s annual golf tournament. Typically held the last Saturday in July, this event brings together about 100 golfers for some healthy and fun competition. Prizes are awarded to the team with the lowest score, plus a closest to the pin prize for both men and women. There’s also a hole in one event with an amazing cash prize, and a small silent auction to augment our fundraising.
Bunco Blast
Playing Bunco is a fantastic way to meet people and Quota’s Bunco Blast event generally draws about 100 players! There are cash prizes for most wins, most buncos, and least wins (no losers here!) and a silent auction.
